Veterinary care assistant

Job Description

 

This role would suit someone with a passion for animal welfare who is interested in helping care for patients and undergoing veterinary treatment. This is a great introduction into a career in animal nursing care with the potential to progress onto a fully-supported veterinary nursing apprenticeship in the future.

The role involves maintaining a clean hospital environment, infection control, assisting nurses and vets with patient care, handling animals during veterinary examinations, cleaning of surgical equipment and some client interaction.
We are looking for someone to work Monday-Friday (Shifts are a range of 8.00-16.00, 11.00-19.00 or 13.00-21.00 with the occasional Saturday cover.
The successful candidate will be hard-working, motivated, be able to show initiative and demonstrate good communication skills. Previous animal handling experience is essential with animal care qualifications preferred.
