Job Title: Growing Supervisor
Department: Cultural
Reporting to: Growing Manager

Main Purpose: - The effective supervision of the cultural team to grow finished crops to meet agreed ready dates and quality standards.

Key Tasks:
Ensure compliance with all company health safety policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all company HR policies and procedures.
Effective communication and motivation of the crop technician team.
Effective communication with other managers and supervisors including operations staff
Ensuring effective team working across the department.
Holding daily briefings with the crop technicians.
Allocation of staff across the department to ensure cultural jobs including watering, Ensuring liquid feeding and top dressing are completed on time.
Ensuring effective spray treatments and biological control.
Care of young plants following acceptance through to potting.
Ensuring beds, roadways and all areas of the Madley Green site are tidy and free of debris and unnecessary equipment.
Ensuring identification of maintenance jobs including beds, irrigation, roadways and general nursery area.
Supporting crop walking to identify pests, diseases and nutritional deficiencies.
Ensuring effective weed control across the Madley Green site.
The in-job induction of new staff
developing the skills and ability of crop technicians and seasonal staff.
Any other reasonable tasks the role requires.

Key Result Areas:
The quality and actual finish dates of all plants across the site.
Reduction in growing wastage.
Pest, disease and weed control across the site.
General appearance of the Madley site.
The effective team working of the cultural team.

Responsible for:
The crop technician team across the Madley Green site.
The tools and equipment used by the cultural team
