Job Description


The Estate Farm supports a near 1,000ha arable enterprise, as well as integrated Agri-environment schemes complementary to food production. It is a well-resourced farm utilising modern equipment and precision technology to drive the technical performance of a diverse arable rotation, including some forage and biomass break crops.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive in-hand arable farming team within a wider estate business, which operates a variety of other enterprises in the estates scenic setting on the Dorset/Somerset border.

Experience and qualifications in operating sprayers, drills, cultivation equipment, ATV's, telehandlers / forklifts and other generic farm machinery essential is preferred, as well as workshop skills. These will form the bulk of the day-to-day responsibilities as a General Farm Worker. As a harvest worker, grain carting will form the main responsibility, as well as supporting the wider team with cultivation, drilling, spraying and grainstore tasks.

Training and CPD provided also to the right General Farm Worker candidate, as well as insight and welcomed contributions to farm strategy.

We are looking for an independent individual, a good communicator, with a willingness to learn, a can-do attitude and someone prepared to take responsibility for certain tasks. Opportunities for training, qualifications and progression will be provided to the right candidate.
