Gardening Assistant

Job Description

 

I have an interesting opportunity for an experienced gardener to assist me in a couple of private gardens in the Marlborough, Collingbourne Ducis and surrounding areas with a view to taking on the complete management and further development of them in 6-12 months time.

The gardens are very plant focussed and would suit someone with a varied interest in plants and general gardening practice, including fruit and vegetable growing. You should ideally have several years gardening experience and a related qualification, or currently studying for one.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to extend their experience or seeking to start or expand their own business.

You will be required to undertake all aspects of garden maintenance, including some mowing, hedge cutting and pruning, although most work is border related. As such you need to be fit, committed and prepared to work outside in variable conditions, sometimes alone, although to an agreed plan.

There is initially up to 3 days per week on a self-employed basis, but there may be additional project work in late summer/autumn where you could potentially take on the garden maintenance following planting. There is plenty of scope to build an interesting and rewarding portfolio of client gardens with which I'm more than happy to share my experience and to advise and assist as much as you wish.

You will need to have your own transport, but tools are largely provided by each client.
