Job Description

 

Ecological Consultant Role
We’re looking for someone who is seeking a varied workload and would enjoy working with us in our small, friendly consultancy.
Our client base is spread across southern England and includes householders, architects, house builders, water utilities, rural agents and government agencies.
Roles & responsibilities
Ecological
• Work independently and undertake ecology related fieldwork
• Production of PRAs and PEAs
• Applied understanding of EcIAs
• Liaise with clients, and other organisations to promote strong working relationships and effective communication
Essential
• Two years ecological consultancy experience
• Demonstrable competency with QGIS/QField
• Applied understanding of BNG and use of the Statutory BNG metric
• Robust interpersonal skills, field skills, report writing and communication skills
Desirable
• Holding/working towards a Natural England protected species licence/s
• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management (CIEEM)
• Transferable skills from previous non-ecology roles
Other Requirements
• A full UK driving licence.
• Access to your own car, insured for business use.

Salary: £28.000/annum
Hours: 40/week (between May & September these hours worked Monday to Thursday)
Holiday entitlement: 224 statutory holiday hours/year (equivalent to 28 eight hour days.) This includes public holidays. In addition to statutory holidays we offer a further 40 hours/year (equivalent to 5 eight hour days).

Benefits: one professional membership paid, all work-related expenses paid, NEST pension after 3 months. After 12 months service category D shares which receive profit related bonus. Personal training budget of £500/year. Use of Company van for work.
