Assistant Gardener

Job Description

 

We are looking for a practical, reliable and willing Part-Time Garden Assistant to join us for two days per week, working under the instruction of the Lead Gardener.

This is a hands-on role based within the gardens of Old Park Farm, offering the opportunity to gain valuable experience across a wide variety of seasonal horticultural tasks. Duties will include the kinds of work you would expect at this time of year, such as planting, weeding, pruning and general garden maintenance.

We are looking for someone who is:

eager to learn
reliable and hardworking
positive, willing and practical in their approach
interested in gaining experience within horticulture
able, once instructed, to work independently at times without direct supervision
Old Park Farm is a beautiful working farm setting near Bosham, close to Chichester Harbour and within easy reach of the wider South Downs landscape, making this a rewarding environment in which to work. This role would suit someone who enjoys being outdoors, takes pride in careful work, and would value the opportunity to build their gardening knowledge in a well-maintained and characterful setting.

Applicants will need to be able to transport themselves to and from site, as this is not a role suited to someone reliant on public transport alone.
