Assistant Ecologist / Field Ecologist (Full Time)
Role:
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated team player with a desire to develop your professional career as a Consultant Ecologist. We’re looking for a confident communicator with enthusiasm and self-motivation to join our friendly and busy consultancy based on the South Wiltshire/Hampshire border.
As an Assistant Ecologist / Field Ecologist you will be working as part of a small team to help deliver Ecological surveys and assessments across Central and Southern England.
Primary duties will include assisting with:
-Phase 1 Habitat Surveys
-Protected Species Surveys
-Ecological Impact Assessments
-Ecological Watching Briefs
-Desk Studies
-Habitat restoration and creation
-Habitat management
-Producing detailed reports and maps
-Liaising with stakeholders
Required Qualifications and Experience:
-Self-motivated, confident and enthusiastic with a keen desire to learn
-Proven experience working effectively within a team
-Bachelor’s degree or higher in Ecology or related subject
-1+ years’ experience working in ecological consultancy
-Undertaking ecological surveys
-Producing high quality Ecological reports
-A full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle
-An understanding of UK environmental legislation
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
-Valid CSCS Card
-Experience of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Assessments and Calculations
-Knowledge of UK Habs classification system
