Aquatic retail assistant
Please note we will still consider applicants who can only work 3-4 days a week, we understand people may be attending university or have other life commitments and these can be covered with applicants upon interview.
(please note your hands will get wet often, you will have to carry and move stock around, and we use ladders on site to catch fish from higher tanks)
Applicants will have a keen interest in fish keeping, previous retail experience is not essential but would be advantageous.
On site training will be provided to successful applicants in areas required.
The role consists of the day to day running of an aquatic retail premises, the role is customer focused and applicants will be expected to communicate with members of the public face-to-face and over the phone.
We sell a wide range of tropical fish, cold water fish, aquatic invertebrates and turtles. The day to day care of these will be part of any successful applicants responsibilities.
Restock and stock checks, site and shop maintenance, day to day shop cleaning, tank/vat cleaning and water changes, fish husbandry including medication and treatment application etc.
General wood working and DIY skills would be advantageous but not essential.
Applicants must be proactive, have good time keeping skills, be polite to customs (yes even the difficult ones) and above all have a good amount common sense.
