Due to an increase in demand we have a great opportunity to expand our team of Apprentice Joiners at our Stockbridge Workshop.
As an Apprentice Bench Joiner at SB Joinery, typical duties include assisting of;
Supporting an experienced joiner to manufacture bespoke sash windows, box sash frames, joinery doors and frame (may be involved in Cabinetry and Staircases)
Fitting parts together using glue and clamps.
Preparing joinery for spraying and also fitting ironmongery when needed.
Filling, sanding and finishing products.
Use both hand and power tools.
To be successful in this role you will;
Understanding of wood working machinery.
An interest in personal and professional development as a joiner.
Interested in working with hardwood, softwood, MDF, plywood, veneered boards, veneers, laminates and solid surfaces.
Have excellent communication skills, fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
Focussed and prepared to work hard.
Strong attention to detail.
A full UK driving license would be desirable in case you need to go to sites on occasion.
City & Guilds Carpentry and Joinery diploma or similar qualifications (or willing to complete)
This job can be physically demanding and often involves working with high-speed woodworking machinery.
The standard working week is 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday (47.5 pw).
The successful candidate will enrol on a college course in September or start a course through our training provider Didac.
