Job Description

 

Reporting to the Depot Stores Manager, you will be based out of the Dorchester Depot, running an area from North Dorset down into the Purbecks, promoting both genuine and pattern parts catering for both wearing and service parts as well a range of Lubricants and Workshop consumables available from our expansive countrystore collection, covering everything from Gates and Fencing to Workshop Tools, Silage Sheets, Bale Wrap along with Seed and supplements, depending on the requirements of the customer (if you can sell it we can source it) working in partnership with our key suppliers you will be looking to expand our product portfolio & client base within the territory.

You will be required to visit all customers within your designated sales area to understand their needs and promote both GCS Agricentre, its related businesses and yourself in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Selling a wide range of agricultural machinery parts & Consumables
• Selling directly to farmers/business clients.
• Liaise directly with our franchises, parts and Countrystore suppliers to ensure that the correct parts and related options are supplied to meet the customer’s needs.
• Pre plan and plot efficient routes to maximise efficiency and service.
• Drive new and existing sales forward, using specific management tools to help you achieve and exceed all sales targets and KPI's set.
• Build long-term working partnerships with your customers.
• Expand the customer base for products by identifying new customers and opportunities within your sales area.
• Attend exhibitions and shows to represent the company.
• Keep up to date with industry developments and trends.
• Keep a database recording customer’s equipment on farm including machinery serial numbers and frequently used parts and consumables.

Skills Required:

• A good understanding or a passion for the Agricultural / Farming sector.
• Sound knowledge of farm machinery and equipment.
• Confident to visit and cold-call upon farmers/business clients.
• Happy to travel in and around the prescribed area.
• Highly motivated – able to work alone and as part of the sales team.
• A positive and friendly personality.

Agricultural Graduates will also be considered.
